• Arrange furnature to create clear pathways. |

• Clean up spills as soon as they happen. |

• Repair loose carpeting immediately. |

• Remove throw rugs or use non-skid tape on backing of throw rugs. |

• Arrange all electrical cords so that they will not cause tripping. |

• Avoid climbing and reaching to high sheives - place frequently used items at counter level. |

• Use stable step stool with handrails. |

• Make sure stairs are firmly anchored, have hand rails that are solid and easy to grasp, and that there is adequate lighting above them. |

• Keep stairs free of clutter. |
